Why Should You Buy Organic Coffee Beans?

Why are so many people going out of their way to find organic coffee beans when there are so many regular coffee beans selling in local stores for less? Many people start buying organic beans because they are not happy with the taste of the beans they can buy in stores. If you are still looking for more of a reason to purchase organic coffee products, there are three main reasons to consider:

1. Organic coffee beans will not be as harmful to your body.

You will not find chemical synthetic fertilizers, preservatives, and pesticides in your organic beans, as that is the main difference between organic and regular store products. Many organic products will also avoid artificial sweeteners and flavorings, since they are added chemicals to food as well.

These chemicals are used in most products on the market today because they are cheaper and can preserve products for a longer shelf life. Synthetic ingredients are chemicals your body was not designed to process, and they are harmful. Some studies have suggested that these chemicals may be linked to some forms of cancer and other diseases. This is why some synthetic ingredients used in the past are not illegal or are limited as to their uses in food products.

You won’t have to worry as much about these chemicals inside your body when you start purchasing organic food sources and drinks.

2. Organic products are far more eco-friendly.

When chemicals are sprayed over crops, they get into the dirt and become a danger to the environment as well. Some believe that peeling fruits and vegetables gets rid of the chemical spray, but this is untrue since much of the chemicals end up in the soil and then inside the flesh of our produce. From the soil, the chemicals make their way into the water supply and we end up bathing in it, cooking with it, and drinking it. These chemicals negatively affect the air, soil and water quality in many communities.

Soil used to grow crops should be rich in nutrients and organisms needed by the human body, but studies are showing it is deplete in many areas. These things are depleted due to the overuse of the land and the chemicals being sprayed into the soil. When you buy organic, you protect the earth and your own body from these pollutants.

3. Organic coffee beans are often very fresh compared to other products, thanks to being roasted right before being delivered to your home.

Most people do not know what truly fresh coffee beans taste like until they order from a company offering fresh organic beans. It is incredibly difficult to find really fresh coffee beans in the grocery store today. If you did not realize that coffee beans could be stale, you are not alone. There is a common misconception that any bean purchased whole and ground up at home is fresh.

Unfortunately, this is not true. What counts for freshness is when the beans are roasted. Most coffee beans are roasted months before being purchased, so to find fresh beans you need to find those that are roasted just after being purchased. Once you try beans that are roasted right before delivery, you will see how stale the beans you have been purchasing actually are.

Organic coffee beans are not necessarily for everyone, but there are many reasons to consider buying them. You have to think about these benefits and then decide if it is a good idea for you or not. Do you think the health rewards for your body and the planet are worth the extra time it may take to order organic beans rather than purchasing stale beans at the store?
